Please read on fully Drivers of Oldham.I recently took my wifes car for an MOT at Hollinwood Tyre & Exhaust & Mot Service Station.I got a call saying it had failed, when I asked what on the owner said Brake discs, 2 x tyres and coil spring - And He said I will do it all for a good price 270, you want it doing! Id had the breaks checked a couple of months before which I told him and they were fine.He said do you want it doing or not, and if not he was keeping the car as thats what the law required now! He was so unprofessional and rude it was unreal.I went up, spoke to the MOT tester and asked for the wheel locking so no work could be done and a brake report, he just gave me the car key and said take the car and refused to give me the brake report.The discs have been checked and passed an MOT, the tyres turned out to be advisory only and then the tester said the owner had said they had failed cause he was worried about me going into the cold weather in Winter! What a lovely guy, my arse! Had I agreed to pay the 270 on the phone I would never have known that the tyres were advisory and the brakes were fine.Total cowboys.Last year I could only pay in cash as the card machine was broken!I have since dealt with DPFirth Transport on Stock Lane who sorted everything professionally and properly and whom I would recommend highly and they only charge 30 for a car MOT.Hidden Gem DPFirth. I had already got a brand new coil spring for a 5th of the price that the cowboys offered and DPFirth fitted this for half of what the cowboys quoted just for labour!You live and learn!
Not a garage to recommend at all. Car failed it M.O.T had the work needed to pass done at this garage, it was cash payment only no receipt, have since taken my car to a proper garage to have the quality of there work looked at, my new repair bill is 750 plus labour. Why do i have to even give 1 star to post this, they rate 0.
