Good to visit again reminds me of my childhood and going to Birkenhead Market with my Mum
I called in to the market hall to get a new pair of gloves, the stall I went to had two members of staff. When I decided which gloves I wanted one member of staff had disappeared and the other was on the phone, I waited with money in hand. When I realized I was in for a bit of a wait I put my money away and went somewhere else.?
Nothing like it used to be. Was once the best market in the North... Now just a shanty town. :-(
Absolutely rubbish half the stalls were closed due too small businesses not being able to afford the rates. I will not be shopping in Oldham again. Bury has a fantastic market and that's where I will be shopping in future.
A great place to shop. There's a nice variety of units. The butchers is especially good with quality meats at a very good price. I like the cozy little cafes too. Lovely place to spend time shopping. They have some great clothes stalls too. Pay a visit, and grab a bargain!!
